Based on the global format created by Gordon Ramsay, the Portuguese version follows professional and aspiring chefs as they compete in high-pressure culinary challenges. The show is filmed at a dedicated restaurant in Lisbon, where contestants are split into Blue and Red teams to serve dinner to real guests under the intense scrutiny of Chef Ljubomir.

There are currently two standard seasons and two celebrity seasons titled Hell's Kitchen Famosos .
