Bakoma TeX’s revolutionary premise was simple yet audacious: Unlike earlier attempts that rendered approximations, Bakoma TeX aimed to use the actual TeX engine (a modified version of Knuth’s original) to render the document live. You could click on a formula in the preview, and the cursor would jump to the corresponding LaTeX code. You could edit the graphical output directly, and the code would change accordingly.
