Meanwhile, Jamie and his men are tasked with taking down a group of Highlanders who have been raiding and pillaging in the area. The mission goes awry, and Jamie is forced to confront the ruthless leader of the raiders, Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies), who is revealed to be the brother of Jonathan Randall.

The episode opens with Claire and Jamie arriving at the Parisian home of Jamie’s cousin, Jared Fraser (a wine merchant).
