For non-critical services (e.g., forums, news sites), users can authenticate anonymously. They prove they are a unique human (perhaps via a "Proof of Personhood" credential) without sharing an email address or phone number, effectively eliminating spam while preserving anonymity.

In the current digital landscape, user authentication is fragmented, insecure, and dependent on centralized intermediaries. Users are forced to choose between the cognitive load of managing unique passwords or the privacy trade-offs of "Social Login" providers (e.g., "Sign in with Google"). This paper introduces , a novel authentication protocol designed to return ownership of digital identity to the user. By leveraging decentralized identifiers (DIDs) and zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs), login2me eliminates the need for service providers to store sensitive password databases while allowing users to authenticate without revealing unnecessary personal data. We propose an architecture that is backwards-compatible with existing web infrastructure and demonstrate its efficacy in preventing mass credential breaches and correlation attacks. login2me
