The Great Queen Seondeok Official

In one famous story, King Jinpyeong received a box of peony seeds from China’s Emperor Taizong of Tang. The painting accompanying the seeds showed the flowers without bees or butterflies. The young Princess Seondeok reportedly observed that while the peonies were beautiful, the lack of insects meant the flowers had no scent. Her prediction proved correct, astonishing the court.
