Wrong Turn meets old-school slasher comedy. Set during Mardi Gras in New Orleans (but mostly in the surrounding bayou), Hatchet is for fans who enjoyed the ridiculousness of the later Wrong Turn sequels. Victor Crowley is a deformed, vengeful ghost/mutant who rips tourists apart in the swamp. It’s less realistic than Wrong Turn , but ten times funnier and gorier. Pure comfort food for gorehounds.
Cannibals, but make them subterranean. Okay, these aren't technically "hillbillies"—they are blind, cave-dwelling humanoids. But the feeling is identical. A group of friends goes spelunking only to get trapped in an unmapped cave system. They quickly realize they are not alone.
