One of the manga's strengths is its well-developed cast of characters. Eikichi is a relatable protagonist, with a passion for driving that's hard to ignore. His interactions with the other members of the Wangan Night, including Akihiro, Takeshi, and Nobuteru, add depth to the story and create a sense of camaraderie among the group.
Wangan Midnight will never be as mainstream as Initial D , and that’s by design. It’s darker, more nihilistic, and demands the reader appreciate the terrifying beauty of high-speed straights.
