Two boys, Neil and Brian, are both molested by their Little League coach in rural Kansas. Neil (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) grows up into a detached, sexually compulsive hustler, reframing the abuse as a consensual, special relationship. Brian (Brady Corbet) represses the memory completely, becoming agoraphobic and obsessively convinced he was abducted by aliens.
