Marco held the door open. Vittorio slid into the back seat, sinking into the leather. Before Marco closed the door, Vittorio looked up.
Marco closed the door and climbed into the front passenger seat. As the car pulled away, he didn't look back at the shattered window. He was already scanning the road ahead. The shoulders were safe, but the road was long.
"Down," Marco said calmly.
