Tarzan Movies __full__ -
Since 2000, live-action Tarzan has struggled. The Legend of Tarzan (2016), starring Alexander Skarsgård and Margot Robbie, attempted a “dark and gritty” reboot. It presented Tarzan as a British lord, John Clayton III, who returns to the Congo to stop a Belgian slave-trading scheme. The film had impressive production values and a rare attempt to address colonialism directly (with Christoph Waltz as a villainous Léon Rom). However, it was overstuffed, CGI-heavy, and performed modestly. It proved that a serious, post-colonial Tarzan is possible, but not yet profitable.
