This is the most debated aspect. Eaglercraft does include any Minecraft assets (textures, sounds, or official code) that are not Mojang’s copyrighted property. The project is a clean-room reimplementation of the game logic using the Minecraft protocol and visual style. However, Mojang’s EULA prohibits distributing modified versions of the game client that bypass the need to purchase a license.
