The first episode of Prison Break , titled " Pilot ," is widely regarded as one of the most effective and high-concept premieres in modern television history. Airing on August 29, 2005, it introduced audiences to Michael Scofield’s impossible mission: to break his brother, Lincoln Burrows, out of Fox River State Penitentiary before his execution for a murder he didn't commit.

Lincoln doesn’t believe him. He insists he’s guilty—he took a hit job to pay off debts, and the target was Steadman.
