Open PowerShell as Administrator and run: winget uninstall "Windows Subsystem for Linux"
Search for your Linux distribution (e.g., "Ubuntu") in the list. Click the three dots (...) next to it and select Uninstall . wsl uninstall
(for Store-distributed WSL apps) Go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps , search for “Ubuntu” (or “Debian”), click Uninstall . Open PowerShell as Administrator and run: winget uninstall
To fully remove WSL from your system—not just the Linux files—you must disable the "Windows Features" that enable it. search for “Ubuntu” (or “Debian”)
Open the Start Menu, search for , and open the result. Uncheck the following options: Windows Subsystem for Linux Virtual Machine Platform Click OK and restart your computer when prompted. Troubleshooting: Can't Uninstall WSL?
