At the dinner table, Sheldon overhears Meemaw (Annie Potts) complaining to Mary about a near-miss with “an audit.” He deduces she’s running a high-stakes poker room out of her garage. That night, he sneaks over and analyzes her “books” (a shoebox of IOU napkins). Horrified by the lack of encryption, he writes a simple but effective randomization program on a TI-99/4A. Meemaw is furious at first—but when her first test run nets a $400 profit, she offers him 10% of the night’s take. Sheldon demands it be paid in rare-earth magnets.
The family gathers for Sunday spaghetti. Meemaw mentions “Sheldon’s little computer project.” George blurts, “What project?” Mary says, “You mean the fishing trip you lied about?” Missy adds, “At least I didn’t lose a cat.” The table erupts. Sheldon calmly announces, “Statistically, this is the third-most functional dinner this month.” Meemaw laughs so hard she snorts iced tea.
