The Preamble (The Introduction)

The Proclamation (The Body)

"Whereas, the undersigned Pollywog(s) (uninitiated landlubbers) have successfully navigated the equinoctial line and have appeared before His Royal Majesty, Neptune Rex, Ruler of the Raging Main, to answer for their crimes of trespassing upon His Royal Domain."

"Having been duly initiated, ducked, shaved, and cleansed by the Royal Barbers and Doctors, and having sworn the Sacred Oath of the Deep, they are hereby transformed."

The Declaration (The "Degree")

"Now, therefore, I, Neptune Rex, do hereby declare and proclaim the subject(s) to be no longer Pollywogs , but trusted and honorable Shellbacks , Sons and Daughters of the Seven Seas."
