“Reel Madness: Deconstructing Mental Illness in Mohit Suri’s Woh Lamhe”

Sana Azim (Kangana Ranaut) is a glamorous and successful Bollywood actress living a lonely, high-pressure life. She is plagued by terrifying hallucinations and paranoia, believing that someone is trying to kill her. The film opens with her attempting suicide, revealing her fragile mental state.

However, the respite is short-lived. As the stress of work and the outside world begins to creep back in, Sana’s schizophrenia returns with a vengeance. Her paranoia intensifies; she begins to suspect Aditya of conspiring against her. She believes he is trying to harm her or hand her over to enemies she has imagined.
