A Playblast is a quick preview generated by Maya’s viewport. Unlike a batch render, which calculates complex shaders, lighting, and raytracing pixel-by-pixel, a Playblast captures the viewport image sequence in real-time (or near real-time). It is the primary method for animators to check timing, spacing, and weight.
