Set during the 1857 uprising against the British East India Company, Junoon follows a young Englishwoman, (played by Nafisa Ali), who lives with her family in a small Indian town. When rebellion erupts, her father and stepbrother are killed by sepoys. Ruth and her mother seek refuge in the house of a local Muslim landlord, Javed Khan (Shashi Kapoor).
