Gamla Nationella Prov Åk 9 Geografi 〈Reliable 2026〉

The Swedish national tests in geography, part of the subject Samhällskunskap (social studies) for Year 9, assess students’ ability to analyze spatial patterns, human-environment interactions, and sustainable development. Old national tests (prior to 2022) were designed under LGR 11. Despite curriculum changes, they offer insights into question formats, reasoning levels, and common knowledge expectations. This paper argues that, used critically, old tests remain relevant diagnostic and preparatory tools.

Old national tests in geography for Year 9 are not obsolete but require critical adaptation. They offer a historical baseline of expected geographical literacy in Sweden and remain useful for structured practice, teacher professional development, and identifying enduring concepts. However, educators must supplement them with current data, digital skills, and LGR 22’s updated progression criteria.
