Microsoft has deprecated Dynamic Disks in favor of Storage Spaces . Storage Spaces offer similar functionality (parity, mirror, simple) but with better portability and resilience. Unless you are on Windows 7 or Server 2008, consider Storage Spaces instead of Dynamic Disks.
