In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Canadian bridge champion Fred Gitlman developed a suite of programs simply titled Learn to Play Bridge I and Learn to Play Bridge II . These became the gold standard. They were not merely rulebooks; they were interactive classrooms. They utilized a "talking head" avatar and guided the user through bidding boxes and card play with intuitive logic.
