In the present, the fallout from the previous episode's revelations hits hard. The survivors are forced into a contained setting—reminiscent of Season 1's "Doomcoming"—but this time, the stakes are legal and psychological rather than survivalist. The paranoia regarding who knows what about the past crimes reaches a boiling point. The script does an excellent job of balancing the dark humor (mostly courtesy of Christina Ricci’s adult Misty) with genuine dread. The episode ends on a cliffhanger that recontextualizes a major character's motives, setting up a potentially violent confrontation for Episode 7.
Episode 6 is a slow-burn thriller that rewards patient viewers. It lacks the visceral shock value of the season premiere, but it deepens the lore and sets the stage for a bloody climax.
