Hibijyon Sc 22 ((exclusive)) -
In verses 12 through 18, the lament intensifies through graphic imagery. The psalmist describes his enemies using bestial metaphors—strong bulls, roaring lions, and dogs. This imagery dehumanizes the opposition, portraying them as agents of chaos and death. The physical symptoms described—"I am poured out like water" and "all my bones are out of joint"—paint a picture of extreme physical trauma.
Verse 16 contains one of the most debated lines in textual criticism: "They pierce my hands and my feet." While some Jewish interpretations translate this as "like a lion [at] my hands and my feet," the Christian exegetical tradition heavily favors the "piercing" translation, seeing a direct prophetic correlation to crucifixion. Regardless of the translation, the imagery conveys total vulnerability, where the victim is surrounded by predators waiting to devour. hibijyon sc 22
