The story begins with Andy, now 17, packing for college. The toys—Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, and the rest—are mistakenly donated to Sunnyside Daycare, a seemingly paradise-like facility. They soon discover the daycare is ruled by the oppressive teddy bear Lotso (Lots-o’-Huggin’ Bear), who runs a brutal hierarchy. The toys must escape and return to Andy before he leaves for good. The film is renowned for its themes of loyalty, loss, growing up, and letting go.
