Blending music, dark fantasy, and post-apocalyptic mystery, the series follows five girls known as "Witchlings" who use the power of song to defend the last bastion of humanity from supernatural threats. The story is set in a high-tech metropolitan refuge known as Kamitsubaki City. Seven years prior to the main events, a cataclysmic disaster called the "Blackout" occurred, during which the sun turned green and instantly incinerated anyone caught in its light.
